The RSS Series Motor Frame is constructed of heavy gauge Hot Dipped Galvanized or Stainless Steel material for optimum corrosion resistances. The frame supports the motor, belt reducer and fan blade, and is designed to provide easy service access to all key components. The Frame is mounted directly to the FRP casing which eliminates vibration and noise resonance thought the supporting structure. All Components are available in Standard Hot Dipped Galvanized or Premium Stainless Steel.
All RSS Series Cooling Towers Feature NEMA Frame, Premium Efficiency TEFC Motors. All motors are Dual Voltage (230-460 3-phase) with class F insulation making them suitable for VFD Duty. The Wash-down, Corrosion resistant design makes them ideal for Cooling Tower application.
Our Belt Drive Speed Reducers are designed specifically for Cooling Tower application. They provide a 2.4:1 motor to fan ratio, that delivers the necessary CFM without over taxing the mechanical reliability drive system. The belt design, ensures quite operation while limiting the starting torque impact on the drive motor. The reducer has (2) lubrication points that can be easily accessed during schedule maintenance.
The hot water basins, cold water sumps, side panels and fan stacks, are constructed of non-corrosive FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Polyester). This material is light weight, very durable and impervious to the effects Rust, Water Treatment Chemicals, Hard Water or Biological attack. The exterior panels are treated with UV inhibitors to prevent damage due to long term sun exposure.
The internal inspection platform is adjacent to the Access door and allows the operator to enter the tower for routine inspection. The platform is available in Standard Hot Dipped Galvanized or Premium Stainless Steel.
The PVC inlet louvers are designed to limit fouling of the tower fill by airborne materials. They also prevent drift during fan off-cycle operation. The material is chemical resistant, non-corrosive and UV protected.
Our high efficiency fill is constructed of Vacuum formed PVC sheets. The specially designed pattern helps to evenly distribute the hot water and improves retention time for excellent heat transfer efficiency. The fill can withstand continuous water temperatures up to 115f, with a spot maximum of 130f. For high temperature applications contact the factory.
All RSS Series Cooling Towers are equipped with FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Polyester) Hot Water Basin Covers. The cover keeps airborne material from entering the tower and also act as an inspection platform. The cover is reinforced to easily support the weight of the technician and had an anti skid surface for added safety. Access ports are provided to allow for inspection and maintenance of the hot water sump. This platform allows for easy access to the fan stack, belt reducer and motor assembly, without suspending water flow to the tower.
All RSS Series Fan Bladed feature cast Aluminum construction, making them impervious to corrosion and resistant to most treatment chemicals. The fan pitch is pre-set at the factory but can be adjusted in the field to optimize motor/tower performance. The blades are designed specifically for Cooling Tower application.
The Safety Railing works in conjunction with the ladder to provide safe and secure access to the Hot Water Sump, Fan Stack and Motor assembly. The system conforms to OSHA standards. All Components are available in Standard Hot Dipped Galvanized or Premium Stainless Steel.
This Door provides the operator easy access to the inspection platform, the cold water basin and the fill bays. The Access Door is designed to easily accommodate fill bundles and all other service components.
The FPT Make Up water connection is adjacent to the access door. This location allows for easy access to the float valve assembly. The Fresh Water Make up is sized to replace evaporation and water bleed or blow-down. The factory provided float assembly is mounted with the necessary air-gap and no back flow prevention device is generally required.
The support Frame is designed to support the FRP components and provide the necessary structural integrity. The support frame can be anchored directly to a rigid mounting surface or on spring isolations as prescribed by local building codes. All Components are available in Standard Hot Dipped Galvanized or Premium Stainless Steel.
The Drain and overflow connections are on a common bulkhead and are intended to be pipe in series to ensure that any waste water is directed to an approved waste water collection point. Drain connection is generally controlled by a isolation valve with the overflow connected down stream from the valve.
The cold water outlet connection is located on the lower bulkhead and is designed to provide gravity flow to the system pump or remote reservoir. The flanged connection is sized to limit minimize the pressure drop and handle maximum flow requirements.
All external FRP components are have a gel coat finish that is formulated UV inhibitors to ensure the FRP material is impervious to the effects of the sun. This finish is also easily resistant to water treatment and cleaning solutions.
Our Ladders works in conjunction with the safety railing system to provide safe and secure access to the Hot Water Sump, Fan Stack and Motor assembly. The Ladders conforms to OSHA standards. All Components are available in Standard Hot Dipped Galvanized or Premium Stainless Steel.
RSD warrants this product to be free of defects in material and/or workmanship to the extent, but only the extent, set forth below:
(A) F.R.P. components for ten (10) years from date of installation. To be replaced or repaired as needed.
(B) P.V.C. fill material for two (2) years from date of installation. To be replaced as needed. Maximum water temperature not to exceed °115f
(C) All electrical, mechanical and non-F.R.P. structural components for one (1) year from date of installation. To be replaced or repaired as needed.
The foregoing expressed warranty is in lieu of all other warranties, expressed, implied, or statutory (including, but not limited to, warranties of merchantability and fitness for any particular purpose.)
RSD shall in no event be liable for any consequential, incidental or special damages and/or expenses.
All tower fans feature cast aluminum construction and provide a large volume of stable air at low noise levels. The fan pitch is adjustable in the field to optimize the performance and to account for variance in static pressure.
All RSS towers feature FRP Fan Stack, Casing and Water Basins. The FRP panels are both corrosion and chemical resistant. The gelcoat finish includes UV inhibitors to protect the tower from the damaging effects of the sun.

All motors are UL recognized TEFC construction, and specially designed for our application. The motors are VFD rated, with frequency drive control panels available as a factory option.
The tower support structure and motor frame are constructed of shot dipped galvanized steel. Optional Stainless Steel components are available upon request.
Our tower fill is constructed of thermoformed PVC to ensure uniform density across the entire deck. The PVC material is resistant to both chemical and biological attack. The sheets are UV protected and meet the CTI STD-136 for rigid PVC. (Limited to 115F continuous duty.) Premium fill with higher temperature ratings is also available upon request.
Water is distributed across the fill deck though a FRP distribution pan. The pan is easily accessible for inspection and service. There are no moving parts or spray nozzles which makes the system virtually maintenance free. FRP basin covers are provided to keep the tower clean.
